Homelessness, rising rents, and a growing shortage of affordable housing. How can we, as a community, come together to tackle this key issue? Join us for a discussion on housing challenges facing San Francisco. Leading experts from business, government, and academia will discuss housing affordability, including why we are where we are and potential paths to resolution.
Senator Scott Wiener represents San Francisco and northern San Mateo County in the California State Senate. Elected in 2016, Senator Wiener focuses extensively on housing, transportation, civil rights, criminal justice reform, clean energy, and alleviating poverty.
Daniel Adams is the Deputy Director for Housing at the SF Mayor’s Office of Housing and Community Development (MOHCD) where he oversees the agency’s new construction pipeline, acquisition and preservation work, and affordable housing policy-making and legislative affairs.
Emily Hamilton is a Research Fellow at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University. Her research focuses on urban economics and land-use policy. Hamilton has authored numerous academic articles and policy papers.
Ms. Tuffin’s experience is centered around complex commercial litigation. Previously, she served as Senior Litigation Counsel in the Enforcement Division at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) in New York.
Kay serves as lead on all operations and collaboration work at the San Francisco Foundation.
As the Program Director of Land Use and Housing at Urban Habitat, Tony supports campaigns for housing justice in the Bay Area and across the state. Currently, he coordinates a regional tenant organizing network, comprised of over 25 member organizations across seven counties, and serves on the planning committee of California Renter Power.
